HAITIAN RELIEF OHBC voted in our recent business meeting to contribute five thousand dollars to the American Baptist One Great Hour of Sharing outreach earmarked for Haitian relief to assist in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that has crippled that island nation. The ABC national convention had contributed $25,000 to help, and we join in Christian solidarity to extend that love gift. If you wish to give personally above our efforts please contact the OHBC office to give through our national association. Mark your check "American Baptist One Great Hour of Sharing- Haitian Relief." |

OHBC Christian Book Ministry Diane Meadows Memorial Book Club OHBC has a Christian Book Club, where we meet periodically to discuss a book which we will commonly read. We have named our club after Diane Meadows, as one of her last visits to OHBC was at our club meeting. In light of precious memories of Diane we wanted to honor her by renaming the book club in her memory. Let us be challenged by her example. If you would like to participate in the DMMB contact Nancy Elkins. |

"InService" We now have a committee at OHBC to minister to our faithful members who are no longer able to attend services regularly. As these members have no access to church news with the end of the published Beacon, we want to come up with ideas to keep close touch with our "at home" members. Baptists believe in mission work, and this is a vital mission that our church needs to address. Please call Nancy Elkins at 469-4137 to be a part of this committee as we continue to expand on meeting the needs of our "Friends at Home." |

OHBC SUPPORT OUR TROOPS PROGRAM OHBC has a ministry of outreach to our military members from the community. We will be sending packages to those serving our nation in a gesture of Christian outreach. If you know of anyone deployed from our area, or is a member of our church extended family, please contact Daniel Johnson or the OHBC office. We are now accepting donations in the office for this ministry. We have moved the display to the vestibule for more visibility. Photos of soldiers receiving our gifts will be posted from time to time along to their addresses so you can send personal cards. Support Our Troops Care Boxes The 2nd phase of our on-going program is in progress, and we will provide you with US Postal boxes that you can fill and return at your convenience. They are available along with a list of acceptable items in the vestibule. |
