A Message from Former Pastor White From 2002

How appropriate that this year's special 110th anniversary fell on Sunday.  It was December 22, 1892, that seventy-two members met to start a new Baptist work in this area and organized the Oak Hill Baptist Church.  The work began, property was purchased, and a new church sanctuary was dedicated two years later on December 23, 1894 (across from where Plateau Medical Center is now located.)  Copies of our Church History (the First 100 Years) are still available in the Church Resource Center.

God has through the years richly blessed the work of His people on this site.  Countless souls have been ushered into the kingdom as a result of the faithful proclamation of the gospel.  It has been our privilege to be a part of this ongoing ministry over the past 21 years.

It is again with sincere appreciation, that my family and I acknowledge your kind expressions of love demonstrated to us during the Christmas season.  The prayer and desire of our heart is that you and yours will truly experience the peace and joy that only Christ can bring.

For those of you with FAST internet connections- you can click here or the photo above to access a page featuring a retrospective work from our church history written by Rev. Shirley Donnelly.  Beware that this is a scanned document that is a large file and it may take quite a while to download!
